What We Do
The National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency that provide Federal financial assistance, is responsible for the administration, compliance, and enforcement of the nondiscrimination laws and regulations that covers programs and activities receiving assistance. The laws and regulations are as follows:
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Age Discrimination Act of 1975
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
Limited English Proficiency
Individuals may file a complaint with the NEA if you believe that he/she has been discriminated against based on race, color, national origin, disability or age by an organization that received NEA funding. Individuals may contact the Civil Rights Office at civilrights@arts.gov.
