The Artful Life Questionnaire: Fiona Whelan Prine (Nashville, TN)

Diana Abu-Jaber: I think a lot of my writing comes directly out of that--the tension between identities and the tension between cultures, and so many of us actually experience it in various ways, not necessarily through immigration. But for a lot of us, we move around, or we feel caught between generations, we feel caught between different identities. I feel like that's where so much of the juice of art work lies, is in the tense places, the uncertain places and the shadowy places. That's where I like to go.
