Blue Star Museums PR Toolkit

The Blue Star Museums PR Toolkit will be updated in Spring 2020 for the 2020 Blue Star Museums season. In the meantime, feel free to use the 2019 toolkit resources for your promotional needs.

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America. The 2019 program starts on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, 2019 and runs through Labor Day (Monday, September 2, 2019). As a Blue Star Museum, you are part of a national appreciation program for military families. Even if your museum is already free, this is an opportunity to be part of a national effort to say “thank you” to our military community.

The 2019 national launch announcement for Blue Star Museums will take place on May 9, 2019 and we encourage you to make your own announcement on or after that date as well. Consider using these tools to help you reach local military families and local media. Use these sample media materials, tips, and tools to promote your organization’s involvement in Blue Star Museums. Here you will find downloadable marketing materials – posters, postcards, and logos – to enhance your promotions.
